HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – An 87-year-old Holland man has died of his injuries following a late Monday morning crash on the Tulip City’s southwest side.
According to Public Safety Captain Robert Buursma, Henry Fozkos was motoring towards the intersection of 40th Street and Lincoln Avenue around 11 AM when he drove his car through a stop sign and into the path of another car. Mr. Fozkos was initially taken to Holland Hospital and subsequently transported to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning. The other driver, identified only as a 41-year-old Holland man, was uninjured.
Capt. Buursma added that Mr. Fozkos was apparently unbuckled, while the other driver was wearing a seat belt, and that speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation. Tips to Holland Public Safety or Silent Observer are welcome.
