GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – A 44-year-old Spring Lake area man will apparently remain in the Ottawa County Jail until a trial on first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges is held.
Bond for Thomas Galloway was raised to 500 thousand dollars following a Monday hearing before Ottawa County Circuit Court Judge Ed Post. The former girls traveling softball club coach has violated conditions of earlier bonds three times, the most recent coming a week ago when he was arrested after leaving an Allendale dining establishment that served alcohol; Galloway admitted that he was drinking. He also faces charges in Muskegon County for allegedly writing a bad check of nearly 700 dollars at a big box hardware store this past April and for being a habitual offender.
Galloway was arrested in March for allegedly raping a then 13-year-old girl in 2012, which led to him being fired by the softball club. His trial is slated to begin on November 8th, and Galloway could face life in prison if convicted.
