PARK TWP., MI (WHTC) – An overnight power outage has caused West Ottawa Public Schools officials to delay the start of classes on Thursday at West Ottawa High School for two hours.
Busses that deliver students to that school will start their routes “exactly two hours later,” according to those officials. No other schools in the district are affected by the outage, and classes at those schools will be held at their regularly scheduled time.
There was no immediate word from the district as to the circumstances that led to the power outage at West Ottawa High School. Last school year, an accident near the campus caused a power outage that stopped a boys’ varsity basketball game against visiting Hudsonville in the fourth quarter; that contest was not resumed and the Panthers were awarded a victory.
