JENISON, MI (WHTC) – A Jenison convenience store suffered extensive exterior and interior damage on Tuesday morning after it was hit twice by the same vehicle.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jeff Steigenga, 79-year-old David Frisk of Hudsonville had turned into the Convenience Store of Speedway, located off of Baldwin Street east of 20th Avenue, just after 9 AM. Witnesses say that he drove through the parking lot at a high rate of speed and struck the building. Frisk then backed up, and as those witnesses were approaching, he threw the vehicle back into drove and smashed into the building again.
The buckled up Frisk was taken to Mercy St. Mary’s Hospital in stable condition, while the convenience store suffered extensive damage to both its exterior and its interior. The crash remains under investigation.
