HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A 44-year-old former builder and softball coach from Spring Lake will have his fate decided after the first of the year.
The Grand Haven Tribune reports that Thomas Barnes Galloway’s trial has been rescheduled to early 2017. His new defense attorney John Moritz requested the change from the original mid-November date. Moritz also asked and received approval for up to $2,500 in state funds to pay for a private investigator to assist with the case.
Galloway was arrested in March on a charge that he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in 2012 when she was a player on the softball team Galloway coached.
Galloway’s bond was increased to $500,000 on September 19 and he was been in jail since.
If convicted, Galloway could face life in prison.
