GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – An internal candidate, one from Flint and two from out of state are the finalists for the presidency of Grand Rapids Community College.
A three-person search committee that included school board chairman Bert Bleke selected, from a list of 66 applicants, current GRCC Vice President Bill Pink, Mott CC Vice President Amy Fugate, Vice Chancellor L. Joy Gates-Black of Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas, and Provost Christina Royal of Inver Hills Community College in Minnesota. Each finalist will have a one-day visit to the main campus in Grand Rapids between November 14th and the 17th, where they will meet with board members, administrators, faculty, staff, students and community members.
Bleke added that the board should make a final decision at its next monthly meeting on November 18th for who will replace Steven Ender, who retires next June 30th after 18 years as the school’s 10th ever president. Grand Rapids Community College holds satellite classes at Holland’s Midtown Center.
