HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The search is on for two women who robbed employees at two separate downtown Holland businesses of credit cards and cash while on the job.
According to Public Safety Detective Ana Amaya, the black suspects, described as in their 40’s, about 5-3 each and heavy-set, went into the unnamed retailers on September 28th. In one instance, the two went into an employee office area and snatched a pair of wallets; in the other incident, one suspect distracted the clerk on duty while the other grabbed a purse stashed under a cash register behind the counter.
Holland’s Downtown Development Authority emailed its members of the matter today, with one member that also has a presence in Grand Haven telling the DDA of a similar type of incident in that community. In the email, the DDA advised that employees lock up personal items and to keep access to back rooms secured and monitored.
Although detectives have an image of the two suspects from surveillance video at a business where a credit card that was stolen by them was used, the two women were still at large as of this afternoon. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Holland Public Safety or Silent Observer.
