GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – A 27-year-old alleged former gang member is scheduled to enter a plea this afternoon in Ottawa County Circuit Court.
Edwind Serrato has been in the Ottawa County Jail on 250 thousand dollars bond since his arrest two days after a February 14th shooting at a home off of 135th Avenue on Holland’s North Side. He was slated for an October 18th trial on a assault with intent to murder and felony firearm charges stemming from the incident in which 21-year-old AJ Prudenciano was wounded. Both Serrato and the victim reportedly had gang ties.
Today’s hearing is before Judge Edward Post, who may hand down a sentence prior to his retirement at the end of the year. Serrato could face life in prison if convicted of these charges.
