HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A free holiday dinner for Veterans and their families will take place on Friday, December 2, in Holland.
Community Choice Credit Union is putting on the dinner along with Holland Veteran Harv Slotman. Slotman is a disabled veteran who has dedicated his life to helping other vets.
“I’ve been all over the state and all over the country promoting Veterans. I’m a disabled vet and I donate my time whenever I can. I was on the board of managers for the Veterans Home for six years. It was a very pleasing rewarding position because it’s for the veterans and the families that are in that home. These vets can’t make on the outside, so we go into the veterans home and make it for them.” Slotman says.
The dinner is from 4-6 p.m. at the Disabled American Veterans Hall located at 1185 Matt Urban Drive in Holland. There will be over $1,000 in door prizes, music and plenty to eat. A turkey dinner with all the fixin’s and dessert too.
Reservations are not needed and all will be seated at the door.
