HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A 22-year-old woman is in stable condition after hitting a deer and losing control of her vehicle on I96 near 88th Avenue in Crockery Township of Ottawa County early Monday, May 22, 2016.
Brittany Johnson was driving a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer WB on I 96 when she struck the deer according to Sgt. Matt Wilfong of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. After hitting the deer she lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway going into the ditch and hitting a tree. Johnson was able to crawl out of the vehicle and up out of the ditch. She then was able to summon help.
Johnson who was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, suffered a leg injury that is non-life-threatening and was transported to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids.
