WASHINGTON, D.C. (WHTC) – Zeeland Congressman Bill Huizenga released the following statement announcing the start of the 2016 Congressional Art Competition for high school students across Michigan’s Second Congressional District.
“This is a great opportunity for high school students to showcase their artistic ability,” said Congressman Huizenga. “With each year that passes, submissions from across West Michigan raise the bar and display an incredible amount of creativity and skill. I look forward to seeing what the 2016 Congressional Art Competition artists have in store for the thousands of visitors that tour our nation’s capital every year.”
The deadline for submission is April 15, 2016. All original entries should be submitted to the Grandville Office. Students may only submit one entry. The winning entry and finalists will be selected by a panel of local art and design professionals.
The winning entry from each congressional district will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. The winning artist will also be invited to fly to Washington, D.C. for a national reception honoring the winning artists from across the nation.
