HOLLAND (WHTC) — A memorial service is set for long-time WHTC host Juke VanOss.
Julius ‘Juke’ Van Oss died early Monday morning. He was 92. His voice was the most familiar on WHTC as he’d been behind the microphone for 64 years.
Listeners and other fans took to the phone and social media to offer condolences and share their thoughts on Holland’s most familiar radio personality.
The memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Community Church of Douglas with visitation immediately following.
The church is at 6780 Wiley Rd,, (130th Avenue), just west of Blue Star Highway.
According to his obituary, Mr. Van Oss is survived by his wife, Norma; children, Blair Van Oss, Julie Cullom, and Jim and Rhonda Van Oss; step-children, Jean and Dave Richters, Marc and Beth Clevenger, and Todd Clevenger; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; five step grandchildren, and one step-great granddaughter; his sister-in-law, Barbara Van Oss; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet, in 1997; a son, Bryan Hooker; son-in-law Jim Cullom in 2012; great grandson Greyson Sauceda in 2015; and a brother, Alvin Van Oss.
