DORR, MI (WHTC) – A free child safety seat inspection is being held at Dorr Township Fire Department.
This inspection will give parents and caregivers the opportunity to ensure that their children are always safely secured while in the car. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has estimated that 3 out of 4 parents do not properly use child restraints.
The leading cause of death for young children is motor vehicle accidents and research shows that 7 out of 10 children are improperly restrained in car seats. If the child is not secured in the child safety seat properly they might not protect the child the way it should be.
The inspection station will have a limited amount of replacement seats that will be available for those who qualify.
The Dorr Township Fire Department is located at 4196 18TH Street and the inspection runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 9.
