HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – It’s not operational yet, but the new electrical power source for the Tulip City and vicinity is picking up awards.
The Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure has given its Envision Platinum honor to Holland Energy Park, which is under construction near the Eastern Gateway area off of Fairbanks Avenue and 8th Street. The award is determined through a verification process that ISI officials say is specifically designed to rate the sustainability of infrastructure.
Project Manager Dan Nally told WHTC News that the honor affirms what the Holland BPW had in mind when it designed the project as part of the city’s long-range Community Energy Plan. He added that having the Holland Energy Park operational by early 2017 is a goal that is still on target.
