HOLLAND TWP. MI (WHTC) – A three-month-long initiative to get Ottawa County seniors more active outdoors has netted some positive results.
County public health and parks department officials say that over 200 persons alone participated through Holland’s Commons of Evergreen and Grand Haven’s Four Pointes centers in the program. All who did join this weekly walking effort in county parks strolled a total of more than 106 thousand miles, which equates to circling the globe four times.
Grant funding has been secured for a Step it Up! fall colors program to be held in conjunction with neighboring Allegan County, with a link for more information here.
