HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – During a Holland City Council meeting last night, the issue of parking in downtown Holland was discussed.
Fitting more spaces downtown, parking for employee’s and a possible parking garage on Ninth Street is part of a study that is about to get underway. The study which will begin in May and run through Summer will also look at how a parking garage will affect Hope College students and staff.
1st Ward Councilman Mike Tretheway says these parking meters will not be your Grandfather’s meters of the past. Walker Parking won the bid for the study. The study which is costing $30,000 will also evaluate parking at Civic Center Place and is being paid from the downtown parking fund which is paid into by downtown merchants.
