ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) – During the cold winter season, hundreds of Michigan families are often left without power and heat because they are unable to pay their utility bills.
To help those families find relief, Consumers Energy is joining Ottawa County Community Action Agency to host the 26th Annual Walk for Warmth this morning in Zeeland. Starting at 8:30 a.m. speeches will be given by such notable participants as Senator Bill Huizenga and Zeeland Mayor Kevin Klynstra.
The walk route starts at 100 Pine St. and travels down W. Main Ave. and Central Ave. in Downtown Zeeland. There is no fee for registration, but donations are encouraged. Last year, through its range of programs, the Community Action Agency assisted over 5,000 individuals in Michigan.
