HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – For over 30 years Holland Hospital’s Volunteer Auxiliary has secured hundreds of thousands of dollars for patient-centered projects in the Lights of Love campaign.
The campaign is a way to honor or remember a loved one. Each donation is represented by a light on their Lights of Love Tree during the holiday season. The campaign supports the purchase of items that enhance the care and comfort of patients and their families that are not typically included in a department budget.
This year money raised will benefit two departments, The Boven Birth Center and Inpatient Behavioral Heath. The Boven Birth Center will receive Newborn Halo Sleep Sacks that will be given to the parents of each newborn. Behavioral Health patients will receive Nu-Step exercise equipment.
Auxiliary Volunteer Barb Tempas says the tree is located in the lobby of the hospital. “We ask donors to donate $5 for which you then have a light lit on our tree. For the $5 you get to memorialize a family member, a friend or someone special to you. You can also make a donation in honor of someone.”
The campaign ends on January 9, 2017. You can donate online or at each entrance of the hospital.
