Marian Hossa scored a minute and a half into overtime last night to give the Blackhawks a 4-3 triumph over the visiting New Jersey Devils last night. Chicago travels to Philadelphia for a matinee against the Flyers tomorrow afternoon.

Grand Valley State swept a basketball doubleheader from visiting Findlay to begin Great Lakes Conference play last night. In the opener, Kayla Dawson tossed in 22 points as the Lady Lakers prevailed, 64-43. Luke Ryskamp’s triple with just over two seconds left in the nightcap enabled the GVSU men to rally past the Oilers in the nightcap, 61-58. Ohio Dominican comes to the Fieldhouse Arena for another round ball twin bill tomorrow afternoon.
In state major college basketball last night, Oakland handled visiting Oral Roberts, 92-64.
