A special way to shop for Christmas resumes in Holland.
The 19th annual Kerstmarkt continues its weekly run with operations today and tomorrow, along with next Friday and Saturday. The event has grown, says Lee Ver Scure of Westview Farms, one of its original participants, from 10 booths in 1997 at Centennial Park to 18 now in the 8th Street Marketplace.
“We have little booths that are replicas of those that (you would see) in (European) outdoor style markets,” he said during an appearance yesterday on “WHTC Morning News.” “All the vendors decorate to different degrees and we try to make it bright and exciting. For the most part, almost all our vendors have everything handmade locally.”
Hours for the Kerstmarkt are 3 PM to 8 PM on Friday and 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday. More information is available here.
