UNDATED (WHTC) – Hanley Ramirez drove in four runs and former Tiger Rick Porcello struck out eight over seven innings for his 17th win as the Boston Red Sox pounded the Tigers Friday night in Detroit, 10-2. The series resumes Saturday night at Comerica Park with broadcast time 6:45 on 1450 WHTC. In other major league action, Kendall Graveman fired a two-hit shutout as Oakland blanked the White Sox, 9-0, at U.S. Cellular Field. Former Tiger Ryan Raburn doubled in the tying run, then scored the winning run on a botched relay as Colorado edged the Cubs, 7-6 in 11 innings.
In the Midwest League…Joey Havrilak had three hits, including the game-winning RBI single, as the Whitecaps edged Dayton, 2-1, at Fifth Third Ballpark. The Caps and Dragons continue their series tonight in Comstock Park.
