GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – Fire broke out at the Grand Haven office of a taxi service that operates out of western Ottawa County.
According to a statement from Grand Haven Public Safety Director Jeff Hawke, firefighters from his department were joined by those from neighboring Grand Haven Township, along with a Grand Haven Board of Light and Power crew and North Ottawa Community Hospital paramedics, in responding to a fire reported on Wednesday morning at the Rosebud taxi offices off of Columbus Avenue. A blaze that apparently was started by a short in wiring between the outside electrical service and interior breaker boxes broke out on one of the walls of the building.
The flames were quickly brought under control and no injuries to taxi staff or to first responders were reported. Damage was initially considered as minor by investigators.
Rosebud Taxi has served Holland and the Tri-Cities since 2007.
