GEORGETOWN TWP, MI (WHTC) – Georgetown Protestant Reformed Church was broken into about 3 a.m. Sunday, April 17.
According to Sgt. Dean DeVries of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, a caller reported hearing a loud noise and seeing a car in the parking lot at the church at 7146 48th Ave.
DeVries said the front door was apparently pried open and bibles, books and literature were thrown around in the church foyer, and fire extinguishers had been used on and around pew seating in the church sanctuary. Evidence was taken from the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
