HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Hope College men’s and woman’s soccer teams are pairing up this weekend to benefit Purple Community, Van Andel Institute’s grassroots fundraising program.
Purple Community connects people who want to join the fight against cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, like Parkinson’s, to the resources needed for action. All fundraising and awareness activities fund research and science education at Van Andel Institute.
The teams will both be wearing purple jerseys with names of loved ones they chose to honor on the back of the jerseys. Purple Hope Soccer T-shirts will be sold at bothgames for $10.
The Saturday doubleheader at Van Andel Soccer Stadium has the Flying Dutchmen hosting Adrian College at 4:30 p.m. and the Flying Dutch will face Albion College at 7 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased in advance through Hope College Ticket Office at (616) 395-7890 or at the gate. They are $5 for adults and $3 for non-MIAA students 18 and younger.
All proceeds will benefit Van Andel Institute and will help underwrite a summer internship for a Hope student at Van Andel Institute.
