HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – If you live in the city of Holland, you could soon see some changes in how many pets you can have.
The city currently limits how many dogs you can have to two, but has no limit on how many cats you can have. City animal control officers, based on feedback from several residents, have asked the City Council to consider allowing residents to have up to three dogs in their homes.
They also are proposing limiting the number of cats per dwelling unit to five, and capping the combined number of dogs and cats in a home to five.
Councilman Brian Burch earlier this year was approached by a constituent who proposed a limit on cats because of problems with a neighborhood having several cats that were causing a nuisance in the neighborhood.
