HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The annual Tulip Time Art and Craft Fair took place in Downtown Holland’s Centennial Park this past weekend and festival goers from around the country were able to enjoy a wide selection of home-made creations from a variety of vendors.
Sculptures, jewelry, apparel, food, and all sorts of knick-knacks were on display by not only local vendors from all over Michigan, but even from as far away as North Dakota and Texas. Natalie Seaton, a painter and owner of the Moon Cookie Gallery, travelled to Holland from Kankakee, Illinois to peddle her wares for the first time at the Art and Craft Fair.
On the other side of Centennial Park, Fudge By Design from Kingsley, Michigan returned for their ninth year in a row to “bring fudge to the people!” Folks were able to enjoy 60 different kinds of home-made fudge, with flavors ranging from the typical (chocolate, peanut butter) to the exciting (bubblegum and chocolate jalapeno!)
The paths of Centennial Park were crowded with both shoppers and vendors, but everyone was excited to see all the interesting merchandise for sale. A family from southwestern Michigan and Illinois were enthusiastic about their first trip to the Tulip Time Art and Craft Fair and were very eager to find some decorations for their homes.
Kara Rooks, the Event Coordinator for the Art and Craft Fair, was pleased to see the turn out this year: “We have about 30,000 people come in and out throughout the park this first weekend, so it’s a good turnout for our vendors.” She looks forward to coordinating many more Tulip Time festivities.
