BLENDON TWP., MI (WHTC) – A house fire north of Hudsonville resulted in anxious moments for four children on Friday afternoon.
A 11-year-old ran into a gas station at the corner of 48th Avenue and Port Sheldon Street, saying that his family’s house a short distance south off of 48th was on fire. Two station employees were able to shepherd three other children, one as young as four, out of the building and keep them from reentering it to get items. All four youths were taken to an undisclosed hospital for observation. There was no word as to whether there were any adults or guardians in the home at the time of the incident.
Crews from several departments brought the flames under control quickly. Investigators believe that the blaze started in the attic, but a cause and a damage estimate were not immediately determined.
