HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – Two young Hispanic men are being sought after a 44-year-old Holland Township man was battered in what may have been a drug deal gone wrong.
By the time deputies arrived at the home on Duncan Street, off of 136th Avenue near Greenly Street around 11:30 PM on Monday night, the unnamed victim had already driven to Holland Hospital for treatment of severe hand injuries and several cuts to his face. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Captain Mark Bennett, the victim arranged to meet his eventual assailants at an undisclosed Holland location for what appeared to be a drug deal. The three then went to the victim’s home where an argument ensued, and the two men pulled out baseball bats and starting beating on the victim before fleeing. The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
One suspect is 20, about 5 feet tall and weighing no more than 115 pounds, while the other is 17, about 5-8 and 170 pounds. Both men had brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer.
