HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – An overturned kayak in Lake Michigan near the north pier at Holland State Park prompted a massive police response to a possible person in the water yesterdat evening.
The Ottawa County Sheriff Office Dive Team and marine patrol, along with the U.S. Coast Guard responded to aid in the search for a pissible victim in the water. No body or evidence of a person in the water was found.
The kayak was brought to shore and no registration or identification was located.
Yesterday morning in the Spring Lake area north of North Shore Beach, another kayak was located floating in Lake Michigan. It was retrieved and no registration or ID was found.
The Ottawa County Sheriff Office reminds those with non-motorized water craft, that you can register thses water crafts through the Secretary of State.
