TALLMADGE TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 57-year-old Grand Rapids man was injured after losing control of his vehicle on a slippery I-96 in northeast Ottawa County on Saturday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Kevin Allman, Ervin Rogers was driving eastbound around 10:40 AM and had just past the 8th Avenue exit in Marne when disaster struck. Apperently due to slushy conditions, his vehicle left the roadway and skidded into a guardrail. Rogers complained of abdominal pain and was taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment. The left lane of the freeway was closed for about a half hour as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.
