Grand Valley State’s women punched their ticket to a first-round GLIAC tournament home game by beating Ferris State in Big Rapids on Thursday night, 104-73, as Kayla Dawson scored 19 points for the Lady Lakers in the opener of a twin bill; they will host Northern Michigan in a quarterfinal contest next Wednesday night. The GVSU men were not as fortunate in the nightcap, as the Lakers ended a 13-15 overall, 9-13 league season by losing to the Bulldogs, 77-55. Drew Lehman had 20 points for FSU.
