HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – The afternoon commute on Holland’s North Side was snarled by a two-vehicle crash.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Brent Converse, 38-year-old Philip Luben of Grand Haven was northbound on 120th Avenue around 4:45 PM and wanted to turn left onto James Street as 60-year-old Richard McDaniel of Holland Township was southbound coming towards the intersection. Luben turned in front of McDaniel, apparently causing the collision, and causing James Street to be blocked off for about a half hour while the scene was cleaned up.
Luben was unhurt, while McDaniel suffered bumps and bruises. His 56-year-old wife Kristi, a front-seat passenger of his, was taken to Holland Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
