HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Icy roads yesterday and blowing snow caused dozens of crashes and forced the closing of US 31 near Lake Michigan Drive. The Sherriff’s Office responded to 52 crashes and slide offs by noon along US 31 and South of I-196 in Holland and Zeeland Townships.
A two vehicle rollover crash in Tallmadge Township yesterday injured a Walker man. Lynn Jolink, was taken to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids by Life EMS after the 7pm crash. The 65-year-old is in good condition and has non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say Jolink was eastbound on Johnson Street and failed to stop at the intersection of 8th Ave. His vehicle was struck by a car driving northbound on 8th Avenue by Tara Herreran 42, of Newaygo. She was not injured, but Jolink’s vehicle rolled over into a ditch.
