HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Hope College plans to break ground on a new campus facility this coming fall. A new 42,000-square-foot student center, named the Jim and Martie Bultman Student Center after the former Hope President and his wife, will be built where the Nykerk Hall of Music currently sits.
The college will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the $22.5 million project on Monday, Aug. 31 at 4:30 p.m. The Jim and Martie Bultman student center will come equipped with a large multipurpose room with a patio, a lounge with fireplaces and large windows facing the Pine Grove, a theatre, a praying chapel, and lots of space to benefit Hope College’s student population. The construction for the student center is slated to last until the 2017-2018 school year.
