HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -This Saturday the Holland Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Ottawa County Marine Sheriff’s Department will host a Vessels Safety Day.
They will be doing free inspections on all boats brought in on a trailer to ensure that all carriage requirements are met for the year for their size vessel. Is you pass the inspection, you will receive a sticker from the Coast Guard Auxiliary and from the Ottawa County Marine Sheriff’s Department which will be good for the entire year.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fish cleaning station parking lot across from the DNR boat ramp.
With the warmer temperatures, Chief Paquette, Officer in charge at the Holland Coast Guard is asking boaters to be cautious when going out on the big lake as the ice right now is ever changing.
