Cabrera, Martinez Homer as Tigers Win; Caps Sweep Dayton; Hawks Stay Alive

UNDATED (WHTC) - Victor Martinez hit a three-run homer and Miguel Cabrera added a two-run blast as the Tigers won in Seattle last night, 6-3. The series at Safeco Field continues this evening. Coverage on 1450 WHTC is at 9:45 PM.

Ryan Braun homered and drove in three runs as Milwaukee defeated the visiting Cubs last night, 11-5. The series at Miller Park continues this afternoon.

Ian Kennedy scattered four hits and struck out nine over six innings as visiting San Diego downed the White Sox last night, 4-1. The series at US Cellular Field in Chicago continues this afternoon.


Bennett Pickar's single in the bottom of the 11th inning plated the only run of the game as the Whitecaps last night completed a three-game series sweep of visiting Dayton, 1-0. West Michigan opens a series in Fort Wayne this evening.


Patrick Kane scored two goals and set up another, including tallying the game-winning marker with 3:45 left, as the Blackhawks won at Los Angeles in NHL Stanley Cup playoff action, 4-3. The Western Conference Finals is tied at three games apiece heading into the seventh and decisive contest at the United Center in Chicago tomorrow evening.
