HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The search is on for a man accused of holding up a convenience store clerk on Holland’s South Side.
Responding public Safety officers were already behind by 15 minutes because the victim called management first instead of 911 after the suspect, described as Hispanic, about 5-9, with a thin to average build, walked into the Family Fare gas station off of Washington Avenue before 11 PM last night, implied that he was armed, and demanded cash from the register. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money on foot westbound, and canine units failed to come up with a traceable scent; the clerk was unharmed. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing tan shorts, white tennis shoes, and a dark colored hoodie with a checkerboard or plaid pattern.
Detectives are attempting to enhance images captured from the store’s surveillance video that could help in tracking down the suspect. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Holland Public Safety or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT, http://mosotips.com).
