JENISON, MI (WHTC) - A vehicle accident in Georgetown Township on Thursday afternoon required rescue crews to extricate one of the drivers.  The collision between a Hudsonville school bus and a truck happened at the intersection of 28th Ave. and Baldwin St. about 1 P.M.  Ottawa County Sheriff Sgt. Steve Austin reports that the bus driver, 68-year-old Judith Geers told dispatchers that she had the green light westbound on Baldwin St.  When she accelerated, she hit a Toyota Tundra traveling southbound on 28th Ave.  The bus hit the truck on the driver's side front area, causing the bus to spin 180 degrees.  The pickup came to rest up against the schoolbus.  Mark Leathead, the 59-year-old man driving the truck, had to be extricated and was initially listed in critical condition at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital.  Geers was transported to Zeeland Community Hospital with minor injuries.  Six small children on her bus were not injured.  The accident remains under investigation.
