DETROIT (WKZO) -- Roughly two-billion dollars is needed to eliminate Detroit's blight. On Tuesday, the Detroit Blight Removal Task Force released an in-depth report aimed at eradicating abandoned houses and trash-strewn lots within the city.

Officials say it will take 850-million dollars to clean up residential neighborhoods and retail strips over the next five years. That number jumps to roughly two-billion dollars total when adding large abandoned commercial structures such as the Packard Plant and Michigan Central Station.
