UNDATED (WHTC) -- A construction accident in Georgetown Township sent one man to the hospital with minor injuries. Sgt. Jason Kik, of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Dept. reports that deputies and rescuers were dispatched to the construction site Thursday morning to help 50-year-old James Babinec of Zeeland. Upon arrival, rescuers found that Babinec was caught under a trenching-style excacator after it started sliding down a hill. Other construction workers freed him prior to police arrival. Babinec was transported to Spectrum Health in good condition. Responding units include: Ottawa County Road Patrol, Georgetown Township E Unit, Georgetown Township Fire Rescue and Life EMS.
