UNDATED (WHTC) - Two Grand Valley State University students and a Western Michigan University student from Zeeland have filed separate lawsuits. Erin Jurek and Ashley Short claim gender discrimination from a professor as one of the reasons why they are contesting academic dishonesty disciplinary action taken against them by GVSU, who accused them of cheating on a take-home math test. Rachel Tamminga is claiming that she was sickened by eating tainted meat from a Detroit packing company last month and is asking for over 25 thousand dollars in damages.
