HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The Memorial Day holiday was cut short for firefighters from Holland, Holland Township and Park Township yesterday afternoon.
Crews from all three departments responded to a house fire in the Holland Heights neighborhood. When the first responders arrived around 3:45 PM at the residence off of Dartmouth Avenue, between 10th and 12th Streets, they found an attached garage engulfed in flames, and the home endangered. It took about 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control, but not before the attic of the residence was damaged.
The residents were not home at the time, and no firefighters were injured. Investigators didn’t immediately give a dollar estimate of damage or make a determination of what caused the blaze, but they do think that the fire was accidental in nature.
