LOWELL (WKZO) -- Lowell's Civil War memorial site finally has its 158-year-old canon back. The relic was removed from the memorial more than 20 years ago due to vandalism. During that time, the Lowell American Legion learned the canon was from the U.S. Navy and not the Army as had been previously believed. It was restored to its original condition as a naval frigate cannon and now sits in Oakwood Cemetery.
