Tigers Keep Winning; Hawks Off on Right Foot; Griffins Blown Out of Playoffs

UNDATED (WHTC) - Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez each drove in two runs as the Tigers completed a weekend sweep in Boston with a 6-2 victory over the Red Sox last night. Winners of six straight overall and 11 in a row on the road, Detroit continues its excursion this evening with the opener of a series in Cleveland. Coverage on 1450 WHTC begins at 6:40 PM.

Travis Wood allowed two hits with seven strikeouts over seven innings as the Cubs beat visiting Milwaukee yesterday, 4-2. Chicago hosts the New York Yankees at Wrigley Field tomorrow night.

Matt Dominguez hit two homers and drove in four runs as Houston downed the visiting White Sox yesterday, 8-2. Chicago begins a series at Kansas City this evening.

Raph Rhymes had three RBI as the Whitecaps handled visiting Lake County yesterday, 9-3. West Michigan starts a series against visiting South Bend at Fifth Third Ballpark tonight.

Brandon Saad scored one goal and set up another as the Blackhawks defeated visiting Los Angeles in NHL Stanley Cup playoff action yesterday, 3-1. Chicago leads the best-of-seven Western Conference Finals, one game to none, and hosts the Kings at the United Center again on Wednesday evening.

Dustin Jeffrey and Radek Faksa each had two goals as Texas blew the visiting Griffins out of the AHL Calder Cup playoffs last night, 7-1. The Stars win the Western Conference Semifinals, four games to two.
