ROYAL OAK, MI (WHTC) - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, of which Hope College is a member, will have a new Commissioner in place when David Neilson’s retirement takes effect on July 1st. Penny Allen-Cook, a consultant and one-time Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference assistant commissioner, becomes the MIAA’s ninth-ever operational leader. She has past league ties as a coach and administrator at Alma College; her coaching career includes stints at Grand Rapis Community College and at Jenison High School.
