HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The 85th Tulip Time Festival concludes its eight-day run today, with the Muziekparade through downtown Holland this afternoon the featured attraction. Retired Detroit Lions placekicker Jason Hanson is the Grand Marshal. The “People’s Choice” poster competition winner will be announced this morning, and the International Town Crier Tournament is on Windmill Island Gardens this evening.
While the conclusion of the Tulip Time Festival garners the most attention in the Holland area today, there are other activities along the Lakeshore planned. It’s National Train Day, with a special ceremony at the Padnos Transportation Center when the Pere Marquette Amtrak service makes its daily morning stop. Letter carriers outside of the city of Holland will collect non-perishable food items on this Stamp Out Hunger Day.
