UNDATED (WHTC) -- Saturday is National Train Day and there will be a celebration at the Holland Amtrak station. National Train Day commemorates the "Golden Spike" that driven into the rails where East and West met in Promontory, Utah, bringing the Union Pacific and Central Pacific together. State Senator Arlan Meekhof (R-West Olive) and State Representative Roger Victory (R-Hudsonville) presented official proclamations from their chambers to the conductor and engineer of Amtrak's Pere Marquette passenger train that makes stops twice daily in Holland. Parents are encouraged to bring the children and don’t worry, there will be coffee and cupcakes. The celebration takes place this Saturday between 7:30 and 8:30 A.M.
