UNDATED (WHTC) - Miguel Cabrera cracked a two-run homer and Victor Martinez added a solo shot to account for all of the Tigers’ scoring in a 3-2 victory over visiting Houston last night. Detroit has won eight straight games and will go for the series sweep of the Astros at Comerica Park this afternoon; no coverage of the game is scheduled on 1450 WHTC due to a Tulip Time Parade.

Gordon Beckham’s three-run homer in the fourth inning and Paul Konerko’s three-run double a frame later helped the White Sox beat the visiting Cubs last night, 8-3. The Pale Hose go for the four-game Second City Series sweep of their North Side rivals this evening at US Cellular Field.

Austin Kubitza scattered five hits with seven strikeouts over six innings as the Whitecaps yesterday completed a series sweep of visiting Lake County, 4-1. West Michigan is home to Lansing this evening. Hear the game on 1450 WHTC and http://whtc.com/listen-live, beginning at 6:25 PM.

***

We mistakenly said on this website yesterday that the Grand Rapids Griffins would start their AHL Calder Cup Western Conference Semifinals in suburban Austin against the Texas Stars on Wednesday. This was in error that we sincerely regret. The best-of-seven series begins this evening at the Cedar Park Center.
