NUNICA, MI (WHTC) - A 41-year-old Grand Rapids man and his young son escaped serious injury in a crash near Nunica yesterday. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Chris Koster, deputies were dispatched around 2 PM to westbound I-96 at 112th Avenue. They spotted a vehicle in the median that had smashed against an embankment and several trees before coming to a stop, but couldn’t immediately determine what led that vehicle to leave the roadway. The driver, Norman Moore, and his unnamed son in the rear seat had to be extricated by rescue workers and were taken to the Spectrum Health complex in downtown Grand Rapids for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
