ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI (WHTC) -- The no-contact advisory for Bear Creek and the Rabbit River downstream to the Kalamazoo River has been lifted in Allegan County. Samples were collected downstream and upstream from a liquid manure spill on Monday of this week. The spill was discovered on February 14th, when an unknown amount of liquid manure was released into Weicks Drain. The leak reportedly came from a Hopkins-area farm. The Allegan County Health Department says people should still proceed with caution. With the excessive snowmelt and run-off, waterways could contain livestock waste.
